Our Blueprint Process
The Book Blueprint Service is designed for people who have a book in them but need help clarifying the story, structure, audience, and path forward before committing to the time and effort of a full manuscript.
At the end of the process, you will have a practical blueprint you can use to write the book yourself, share with another writer, or serves as the foundation for a full ghostwriting engagement with us.
Our goal is simple:
“You talk. We listen. We chart a path for you from there.”
Here’s how we do that.
1. Discovery Discussion
We begin with a complimentary 30-minute consultation to identify if this service will be helpful to you. We respect your schedule and are happy to meet evenings or weekends.
2. Deep-Dive Conversations
If you decide to move forward, we typically schedule 2 - 4 hour-long conversations by telephone or Zoom to understand your story in more detail.
3. The Blueprint
We reflect on our discussions, identify the heart of your story, and prepare a blueprint (below).
That’s where this service comes to a close. But, you still have one important decision in front of you:
4. You Discern and Decide
After reviewing the blueprint, you have a decision to make. Will you:
— Begin writing your book yourself, based on the blueprint
— Hire a ghostwriter (us or another writer) to write the book for you
— Decide that you’re not ready yet, or your story needs to percolate more.
No matter your decision or outcome, The Book Blueprint Service provides a deep sense of what your story is, how it can be structured, and how you want to proceed.
The Result
Each Book Blueprint Service is customized — because each client/author and personal story is unique. The main features of the service will generally include:
2–4 Interviews - conveniently arranged around your busy schedule
Book Concept Statement - clarifies what the book is really about
Target Audience - helps you know who you’re really writing for
Chapter-by-Chapter Outline - gives the book structure and momentum
Key Themes and Threads - helps identify and reinforce key throughlines
Sample Introduction - helps you start to “see” your story in book form
Publishing Path / Next Steps - suggestions on self- or traditional publishing
Recommendations - we meet by phone/Zoom to walk through the blueprint.
No matter what you decide from that point forward, you’ll have a much clearer sense of the book that lies within you — and you’ll know better how, when, and why you want to bring it to the world.
Book Blueprint Fee
This customized service is offered for a fee of $3,500, which is credited in-full towards our ghostwriting fee if you then decide to engage us as ghostwriter for your book or memoir.
