Empathetic Leadership Books

We are proud to be one of the first publishers focused on the power of empathetic leadership
to enhance organizational culture and performance.

About the Author

Michael Brisciana brings to his writing more than 30 years of professional experience as a senior Human Resources leader, working with organizations ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, as well as nonprofit and educational institutions. Throughout his career, he worked closely with executives and leadership teams—advising on leadership development, organizational culture, employee engagement, and complex interpersonal dynamics inside high-pressure environments.

He holds an MBA from Loyola University Chicago, with advanced training in leadership, organizational behavior, and management.

Upon retiring from the HR field, Michael founded Trust Publishing Group as a means for combining his loves of listening, writing, promoting empathy, and helping executives tell their stories and inspire others.

In our writing, presentations, and consulting work, we focus on one of the most misunderstood—and most powerful—leadership capabilities: empathetic leadership. Rather than approaching empathy as a “soft” or abstract concept, we see empathy as a practical executive leadership skill—one that improves decision-making, strengthens trust, reduces burnout, and increases organizational effectiveness.

"This is an amazing book. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that because it’s about empathy, it’s light on substance or just all about being touchy-feely. Absolutely not.

Michael Brisciana gives practical, applicable, concrete advice for how to apply the tenets of empathetic leadership in the business world. That said, this book's lessons can very definitely be applied in any other field, including health care and education. I wish I’d had this book when I was teaching; my colleagues and I would have benefited so much from it, as would our students." (5 stars)
